It had been five years and still there were numerous warnings
all over town about an unknown man who had fled police custody. He had been accused
of committing a string of murders involving the rape and torture of a few women
in nearby Valley Falls. Every girl had been warned of the dangers of being out
alone at night and urged to stay in pairs and stay within brightly lit
areas if they had to go out at night.
