Isaiah drove hurriedly down a dark deserted highway at night
desperately trying to get home in time. Work ran later than normal and he had
promised his girlfriend that he would pick up her daughter from recital half an
hour ago. “I’m on the way now Marsha, I should be there within twenty minutes,”
he reassured her as he sped headlong around a curve. Water splashed his
windshield as he hit a puddle and Isaiah turned on his wipers to increase
visibility. It had rained earlier and even now his headlights shimmered over
the wet pavement as he maneuvered his car down the dark road.
