19. The Lady in White

Isaiah drove hurriedly down a dark deserted highway at night desperately trying to get home in time. Work ran later than normal and he had promised his girlfriend that he would pick up her daughter from recital half an hour ago. “I’m on the way now Marsha, I should be there within twenty minutes,” he reassured her as he sped headlong around a curve. Water splashed his windshield as he hit a puddle and Isaiah turned on his wipers to increase visibility. It had rained earlier and even now his headlights shimmered over the wet pavement as he maneuvered his car down the dark road.

“Don’t worry about a thing, I’m almost to school. I’ll see you when I get home. I love you.” He tossed his phone onto the seat next to him and turned his attention to the radio with the silence of the road droning into his ears. It took a moment flipping through a few channels before he found something suitable. As Isaiah finally looked up to the road, he immediately slammed on his brakes and the car began to fish tail wildly across both lanes before finally coming to a stop.

There in the road in front of him is a beautiful woman, dressed in white, who appeared frantic and lost but made no attempt to get out of the way of his speeding car. Thinking of her safety, Isaiah hopped out of the car and moved quickly to her aid. But as he approached the spot where he saw her, the woman was nowhere in sight.

Shrugging off the incident as a trick of his headlights on the slick road he hurried back to his car and found the woman sitting seductively in his passenger seat. “Hello? A-are you ok?” he asked as he slid behind the wheel. The woman looks up at Isaiah, a calm expression on her face and smiles. Her dark black hair is wet and dripping “Did you get caught in the rain?” he asked and still received no response. He looked her over, appreciatively taking stock her curves.

“Do you want to take me home?” she asked in a deep, sultry tone noticing his eyes on her bosom.

“Oh I’d love to,” Isaiah replied excitedly, feeling himself already becoming aroused. Two days later, his car was discovered on a bridge on the outskirts of town smeared with blood but his body was never found.

  1. Cheaters never win LOL. See I guess if he had said no, but he'd drop her somewhere he might have lived.

    1. HAHA so true! He should have just gone home! Had he said no he would have definitely survived the night (at least according to Legend). The Lady in White was a scorned lover who flung herself into the icy chilled waters off a bridge one night. Since then she haunts lonely stretches of roads waiting for unsuspecting cheats to accept her offer to go home. -- Well that's how ONE goes. There are others but...this one didn't involve the deaths of innocent children (this time).

  2. So that poor girl is still at school? Smh. He is a irresponsible step-step dad (Since they weren't married I added an extra step lol). And it serves him right for losing focus of his girlfriend and her daughter.

    1. Yep! She's stuck at school waiting for him while he's making plans of cheating on her mom. I guess some Urban Legends are sweet cosmic justice!
