“Everyone just stay close,” Jill said as she took a seat on the couch. “We can get through this, just try and remain calm and focus on other things.” She flipped the remote and turned on the first movie.
Everyone inched as close to one another as possible as the blood red letters of the first movie were scratched across the screen. Leah held her pillow close to her face as she prepared for a night of horror, artificial and authentic.
“If the hallucinations can make you see anything, how are we going to be able to tell the real from the fake?” Nedra asked shuddering at the sight of the bullet whizzing towards her again.
“We just have to make sure wherever we go, we are with someone; the Buddy System,” Quiana suggested. “I’d very much not like to see myself being eaten alive by whatever is under this place nor hear any of the voices that supposedly take over its occupants.”
“Agreed. If anyone has to do anything, make sure you are not alone,” Daijah said as she grabbed for the popcorn. “It’s the best way to stay safe and make sure nothing happens to anyone here.”
There was a loud scream from the television and the girls jumped and laughed at themselves as they realized it wasn’t real.
As the night continued, they became more and more relaxed and started to really enjoy the Horrorfest films. Nedra had forgotten her experience upstairs enough to allow herself to have fun and Daijah was happy they’d finally gotten to the point she was hoping for.
“I have to pee,” Quiana said standing.
“Good. This might be a good time for everyone to take a small break and stretch your legs,” Freedom said yawning.
“And we’re out of popcorn,” Lizzy laughed.
“I’ll grab more if you girls wanted to watch another movie or something?”
“Sure, there’s nothing else to do right now right?”
“Well, one of the activities I’d planned was telling ghost stories but the fact that we’re living one now, I doubt anyone would be up for it.”
“I would!” Karima smiled. “I’m really starting to get lost in the ambience of everything and to be honest, the idea of the real life ghosts being near just adds to the excitement of everything!”
Nancy looked around at everyone before she too agreed to the ghost stories. “It could be fun!”
“Yeah until one of them actually answers,” Nedra sighed shaking her head as she and Quiana started for the stairs to the bathroom.
“Well when everyone gets back, we can decide from there.” Daijah started for the kitchen and Kalene called for her.
“Don’t you need a buddy?” she ran up to her quickly and they left together to make more popcorn.
“So you honestly had no idea about the burial ground beneath the house?” she asked once Daijah turned on the burner to melt the butter.
“No. I mean I took a tour here and the guide was telling us everything about the place but, I really wasn’t paying much attention after she mentioned the murders. I kind of stuck around that one room looking at everything so I missed the rest of the story.”
Kalene sniffed the air as the popcorn began popping. “I’ll grab the salt,” she suggested and turned to get it.
“No that’s ok, I’ll get it,” she said handing Kal the spoon. “Just keep stirring,” she smirked.
The widow would sit in the flowers at night
watching and crying at the gravesite
her husband did leave her alone and afraid
but this was the bed her lover had made
watching and crying at the gravesite
her husband did leave her alone and afraid
but this was the bed her lover had made
He was not the gentle spirit everyone thought
at night he grew violent and everyday they fought
his hand would sting her face a time or two
until one day she decided she was through
at night he grew violent and everyday they fought
his hand would sting her face a time or two
until one day she decided she was through
She waited for him to lie rest in his bed
and stood over him, an axe raised above her head
with one silent swoop his head went flying
and she fled the house, in tears she was crying
and stood over him, an axe raised above her head
with one silent swoop his head went flying
and she fled the house, in tears she was crying
Still it wasn’t his death she mourned but her fate as well
for surely this task would lead her straight to hell
and in place of roses she’d find demons instead
As she takes her place among the dead

Holy Moly, she killed her husband. I have to admit when I first saw just the top of that picture I thought it was ghost in the kitchen until I scrolled the rest of the way down.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit the ladies are handling this very well. I would be a basket case right now knowing the history of the house.
Again strongly considering swimming for it. LOL
He beat her and she took all that she could. He had to go! Pretty huge blade she used too! Ensured the job got done well!
ReplyDeleteSoon...soon :)
They are being pretty patient with everything...thus far. That will change shortly.
LOL Well I hope you're a strong swimmer :D tomorrow only gets "better".
Thank you for reading!
Ok, I was convince that these chicks were crazy before but um, why sit around and watch movies and telling ghost stories when one showed up and told ya'll asses in so few words you're in trouble?!! RUN!! That means RUN!
ReplyDeleteBut there is nowhere to go LOL. What's the point of running when you're on an island. Do you want to be outside when the baddies come? :P HAHAHA that cracked me up though.
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading!
I love how everyone is still trying to have a good time together even though they are scared!
ReplyDeleteOkay those poems at the end are getting scarier and scarier! Especially that first picture. I can just see her bringing that cleaver down!
They are trying to get their minds off of what is happening but soon there will be no choice but to face facts.
ReplyDeleteThat was a weapon she was wielding! Surprised the old lady could lift it over her head! Maybe like me she never leaves home without it :P
